Combat Hand Signals

Something that is very important to everybody in war games is the ability to keep stealth, and that keeping quiet is a large barrier in the realm of communication. A difficult task for Junior Army Members is to learn the various hand signals used by the US Army in combat. Below are various pictures with captions that should help you with the learning process.

The Numbers

Used to adentify troops and also as any number would be used.

Assemble

Used to get troops in one location, usually to be briefed.

Disperse

Used to spread the dencity of troops.

Disreguard Previous Command

Used to cancel the last order given.

Acknowledged

Used to verify your understanding of your orders.

I do not understand

Used to show that you did not understand the last message.

Form Column

Used to order troops to make a coloumn formation.

Extend / Widen Formation

Used to give the order to either lengthen the current formation or to widen it.

Close Up / Thin Formation

Used to give the order to make the current formation shorter or thinner.

Follow Me

Used to give the order to follow.

Come with me

Used to give the order to join.

Move Over and Cover

Used to give the order to get out of the way and to hide.

Turn

Used to indacate a turn in the upcoming path.

Halt

Used to give the stop command.

Increace Speed

Used to give the order to go faster.

Prepare for Action

Used to warn troops of possible action.

Commence Fire

Used to give the open fire command.

Take Cover

Used to give the command to take cover.

Danger Area

Used to warn troops of an area that could contain danger.

Cease Fire

Used to give the command to hold fire.
